What is all this stuff about church planting?
I started the church planting journey in March of 2008 as we were called by God to the Journey North Community church as church planter in residence.? As church planters we are missionaries in our own back yard, across the city, state or across the country.? Through the next year I will be working alongside a seasoned church planting pastor, Mark Bjorlo, planning and preparing to launch a new church in a community in North central MN.
It is no small task to bring the gospel message into a community. Recent statistics show; 65% of Americans are ?unchurched? having no formal church connection.? We are confronted with the largest generation, in the history of the world, to grow up outside of the church, 3700 churches close their doors every year, 80 to 85% of all churches in America are plateaued or declining and no County in the U.S. has seen even 1% increase in church attendance in the last 10 years.
To engage in this task there is a great need for the generosity of others to help make this happen.? It is through the generosity of others, people investing in making a Kingdom difference, that help us guide others to a Christ lead life change.
